Congressman Pete Stauber, R-Duluth, helped pass Friday, March 27, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, legislation that will provide relief to American families, small businesses, and hospitals.
“Our nation faces an unprecedented challenge. Over the course of a few short weeks, coronavirus has infected thousands of Americans, shuttered countless small businesses, and placed an undue burden on our hospitals and healthcare workers,” Stauber stated in a news release. “That’s why I consider the CARES Act to be the most consequential legislation on which I have voted. Fortunately, the CARES Act passed out of the House with strong bipartisan support and with its passage, my message to all Minnesotans is this: relief is on the way.”
“This legislation will help save lives, support families and those in need, keep workers in their jobs, preserve our small businesses, and ensure healthcare workers on the front lines of this crisis have the resources necessary to quickly and safely treat patients,” Stauber continued in his release. “This legislation is not perfect, and created through compromise, but it is a huge step in the right direction.”
“However, our work is far from done. Over the course of the next few weeks, it is my hope that both Chambers continue to enact bipartisan reforms that help Americans navigate this crisis. Thanks to the pro-growth policies of this Administration, our nation had the strongest economy in the world before coronavirus. If we continue to enact decisive and smart policies, I am confident that we will bounce back,” Stauber concluded in the release. “As I have always said, there is no challenge too great for the American people to overcome. By working together, we will overcome this dark period and reemerge an even stronger and more self-reliant nation than before.”
