The deadline has come for the Brainerd Dispatch’s Stories of Christmas section.
We have offered this fun contest for 30 years and while I’ve received numerous adult submissions, I have only one for the children’s category and one for the teen category.
Teachers in the Brainerd lakes area, have your students write and submit a Christmas story or memory to me. Parents, help your kids write something up. Did they have a great Christmas story to tell about a favorite gift they once received? Or perhaps you have a creative and imaginative writer in your home. Encourage them to write a story about Christmas. They could win a fun prize just before the holiday.
Each year we get wonderful stories -- some humorous and lighthearted, others are thoughtful, touching remembrances. Tell us your story -- fiction or nonfiction.
There will be three categories: kids’ category, for ages up to 12; juniors, age 13-17; and adults, 18 and older. Prizes will be awarded.
