A college student found dead in the Red River near Breckenridge, Minn., in June died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to his autopsy released Saturday.

However, the autopsy did not determine whether Andrew Sadek, 20, had killed himself.

He was last seen on the campus of North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton on May 1 and was reported missing the following day.

Campus police and other law enforcement agencies found him weeks later after an extensive ground, air and water search.

The autopsy report said a small-caliber deformed lead bullet was recovered from Sadek's body. There was no trace of drugs in his system.

NDSCS said the investigation into his death remains open because of its undetermined nature. A search for the weapon continues, though campus police do not believe there is any threat to the public.
