Area students in sixth through 12th grades are invited to attend Central Lakes College’s annual Summer Engineering and Manufacturing Camp from July 5-9 at the college's Staples campus.
The camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, with lunch provided each day. Transportation is available from the Brainerd campus.
The camp gives students an opportunity to experience hands-on electronics, motor controllers, computer aided drafting, manufacturing machining and robotics automated systems. Students build “battlebots,” all while gaining expert instruction in computer-aided drafting and robotics automated systems. At the end of the week, students will compete in a battlebot competition, including an obstacle course, robot hockey and the battlebot demolition. Awards will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place teams.
The camp fee is $200, and limited partial scholarships are available. Sign up by June 30 by contacting Jill at jill.albie@clcmn.edu or 218-894-5138.
