Miss Preteen Midwest United States Gabriella Miller will compete in the pageant's national competition June 30 through July 6 in Orlando, Fla.
Gabriella is a fifth-grader at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. She has volunteered with Operation Sandwich this summer and completed 325 hours of volunteer service last year; she helped the Salvation Army with bell ringing at Christmas time; and served food at Relay for Life, where she helped in raising more than $1,000 for the organization.
Gabriella is a member of Kinder Kids Club in school, which is where youth go out of their way to include others at recess and lunchtime, making sure everyone has a buddy.
Gabriella also attended nationals last year as Little Miss Minnesota and placed in the top 10 and is hoping to capture the Miss United States Preteen Title this year.
There will be a supper and bake sale at 5 p.m. June 16 to support Gabriella at the Brainerd VFW. Tickets are $8 at the door.
