RIVERTON - Law enforcement officers on Monday continued to look for leads in connection with a man who crashed his truck and fled on foot in Riverton Sunday afternoon.

The ground search was called off in the early evening hours Sunday, but officers are now following up on leads to find the driver, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

According to police scanner traffic, the driver of the truck hit speeds of about 90 mph heading into Riverton when he struck a telephone pole and fled officers by foot into the woods.

The town was full of law enforcement officials for a couple of hours as they combed the streets, woods and mine pit areas for the driver.

The state patrol said Monday the incident is under investigation and they are looking into possible leads on who the driver is.
