SUV crashes, goes into marsh and flips

The vehicle crossed over the center lane and into the oncoming traffic lane before running off road to the left, the crash report stated.

HILL CITY — The driver of a Saturn Vue was injured Sunday, May 23, when the vehicle collided with a tree, entered a marsh and flipped at least once in Aitkin County.

The Minnesota State Patrol was called at 12:20 a.m. to the crash. The SUV was traveling east on Highway 2 east of Hill City and northwest of Floodwood, according to the patrol. Kelsey A. Olson, 18, Grand Rapids was driving the vehicle when it crossed over the center line and into the oncoming traffic lane before running off road to the left. It then went down into the ditch, colliding with a tree and entering a marsh, flipping at least once, the state patrol reported. It came to a final rest facing the opposite way.

Olson was transported by Med One Ambulance to Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries.
