BAXTER — A tanker truck rolled over on Highway 371 in Baxter Wednesday, March 18, halting traffic on the thoroughfare.
The Minnesota State Patrol is still investigating what it described as an injury crash, which happened at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of Highway 371 and College Road.
As of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced the northbound lanes of Highway 371 between Highland Scenic Road and Glory Road were closed, while the southbound lanes were open. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
The Brainerd Fire Department, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter Police Department, and North Memorial Health Ambulance were also on scene, along with hazardous material spill response equipment from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
