BAXTER-The eighth annual Teen Driver Safety Seminar will be 5 p.m., March 31, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Community Room, Baxter.

The free seminar is open to teens and their loved ones and will provide practical tips and information about key Minnesota legislation affecting teen drivers as well as other teen driving issues, like aggressive and distracted driving or the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescription or illegal) and the effect of a teen driver on auto insurance.

Guest speakers will include Nicholas Diederich from MN State Patrol, Matt Cordes and Seth Witthun from North Memorial Ambulance, Darrell Pulak of Baxter Insurance and Joe Brenny, owner of Brenny Funeral Chapels.

This year there will be a short movie or two as well as a participation demonstration.

Registration will be from 5-5:30 p.m., March 31, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Community Room. Food and beverages will be served at 5 p.m.; the seminar will run from approximately 5:30-7:30 p.m. Door prizes will be given away.

The seminar will be directed to parents/guardians and teens of all ages whether they are driving now or are soon-to-be drivers. While the seminar is free, advance registration is necessary.
