The annual Teen Driver Safety Seminar will be 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Community Room, Baxter.
The free seminar is open to teens and their loved ones and will provide practical tips and information about key Minnesota legislation affecting teen drivers as well as other teen driving issues, like aggressive and distracted driving or the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescription or illegal).
Guest speakers will include a representative from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department; Matt Cordes from North Memorial Ambulance; Levi Waage from AT&T; and Luke Jordan, whose brother was killed in an alcohol-related crash.
Registration will be from 5-5:30 p.m. Thursday at Brenny Funeral Chapel Community Room. Food and beverages will be served at 5 p.m., the seminar will run from approximately 5:30-7:30 p.m. The first 25 attendees to RSVP will receive an iTunes or Google Play card. Door prizes will also be given away to attendees, including a grand prize package.
The seminar will be directed to parents and teens of all ages whether they are driving now or are soon-to-be drivers. While the seminar is free, advance registration is necessary.
