BAXTER — A 17-year-old Brainerd girl was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday, June 18, north of Baxter on Highway 371.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 2:11 p.m. According to the crash report, a Jeep Cherokee was northbound on Highway 371 and a Ford F150 truck was traveling west on Ojibwa Road. The truck attempted to turn left to go in the southbound lane of Highway 371 when it was struck by the Jeep in the intersection.
The driver of the Jeep, 17-year-old Ava M. Pikula of Brainerd, was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life-threatening injuries. Pikula had two passengers — Tywla Day, 17, and Jasmin S. Schultz, 16, both unknown addresses — who were not injured.
The driver of the truck, Kathleen R. Nydegger, 74, Brainerd, was not injured.
The state patrol reported all the people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.
