Central Lakes College Natural Resources student Nicholas Johnson (left) and students from Gallaudet University, Amanda Jo Temple and Isaac Flink, worked together Tuesday collecting water samples on Crow Wing Lake 10 miles south of Brainerd.

The students tested seven different points on the lake for clarity, temperature, dissolved oxygen and zooplankton. Water was also collected to detect levels of phosphorus, chlorophyll and nitrates.

The samples are collected weekly throughout the summer to study trends in water quality over time.
