Thank you, Mayor Wallin, and all of the Brainerd businesses, for hosting me at a reception in honor of the 67th Annual Minnesota Fishing Opener. Thank you also for proclaiming it "Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon Day" in Brainerd. As lieutenant governor, I am more accustomed to signing than receiving proclamations. I am humbled by your thoughtfulness and hospitality.
I had a wonderful time learning more about the businesses of Brainerd and witnessing for myself, through the SEH windows, the revitalization efforts underway in downtown Brainerd. Thank you for your leadership in this regard. I hope my visit, and the resulting news coverage, in some small way helps further promote the good work you and your business community is doing in downtown Brainerd and across the region.
