The Brainerd Fire Department responded to two fire calls Monday night.

Firefighters were called at 5:48 p.m. Monday to a home full of smoke on the 4200 block of Moberg Lake Road, north of Baxter. It was reported the owner was thawing out pipes with a torch and accidently started the baseboard on fire. The fire got into the wall. Firefighters had the fire contained at 6:17 p.m. Firefighters checked for additional hot spots before clearing the scene.

Then firefighters were called to a vehicle fire at 7:36 p.m. on the 11000 block of Burgwald Road in Brainerd. The vehicle was fully engulfed upon arrival and was a total loss.
