Brainerd police continue to investigate the armed robbery yesterday at the Northern National Bank on S. 6th Street. At 10:45 a.m. a lone gunman entered the bank, demanding money. He left minutes later with an undetermined amount of money. No one was hurt.

Exhibiting the skill that has made him famous in drowning tragedies, a Stillwater Indian, known only as "Fisherman John," has recovered the bodies of two men who drowned in Cedar Lake near Aitkin. Volunteers had worked for days, but he was able to recover the bodies in a few hours.

Our thrifty city council voted last night that the Chautauqua entertainment, now concluding its performance in Brainerd, should be assessed a license fee of $55 and sent Police Chief Squires to collect. The manager said Brainerd was the first town out of 400 to do this.
