PARK RAPIDS - A Cass Lake woman and two Walker men have been charged in connection with copper theft and almost $100,000 in damage at the former Ainsworth Lumber plant in Hubbard County.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office said that at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 20, it responded to a report of a suspicious pickup near the plant in Farden Township.

Deputies stopped the truck, which had three occupants, and observed a large number of copper plates and parts in the pickup bed, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Deputies later found that damage had been done to buildings at the plant and suspected the copper in the truck came from there.

The three people were arrested.

Nicole Clark, 25, of Cass Lake, and Jeffery Goose, 28, and Roderick Goose, 47, both of Walker, have been arraigned in Hubbard County on felony burglary, theft and damage to property charges, the release said.
