Three people were injured late Thursday night after the vehicle they in left Highway 169 near Noopeming in Mille Lacs County and collided with several trees, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. The vehicle, a Ford Focus driven by John C. Sandberg, 63, of Aitkin, was traveling northbound on Highway 169 when it left the roadway and struck many small trees before coming to rest after hitting a large tree, according to the state patrol.
Sandberg was transported to Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia for non life-threatening injuries.
Two passengers in Sandberg's vehicle, Donna F. Iverson, 68, Aitkin, and Sharon K. Rambo, 67, Brainerd, also were injured. Iverson was treated at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia for non life-threatening injuries. Rambo was transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with serious injuries.
The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's office and the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
