Spring weight restrictions for the central frost zone and north-central frost zone in Crow Wing County end effective 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 14.
The central frost zone is south of highways 210 and 18, and the north-central frost zone is north of highways 210 and 18.
However due to poor soil conditions, restrictions will remain in effect for gravel roads in the northeast portion of the county, including County Highway 36; county roads 105, 106 and 141; and Spruce Grove and Burgstaler roads until at least Memorial Day.
Minnesota Statute 169.87 establishes weight restrictions. The weight on any single axle shall not exceed 5 tons on any unpaved street or highway; or 10 tons on a paved street or highway unless posted otherwise between the dates set by the transportation commissioner.
Cooperation and compliance with the legal posted limits is needed to minimize unnecessary damage to roads, a news release stated.
