The Itasca Moraine chapter of the North Country Trail Association is hosting a hike on the North Country National Scenic Trail 9 a.m. Saturday.
Hikers will meet where the trail crosses the Hubbard County Spider Lake Forest Road, about three miles south of the junction of Spider Lake Road and Highway 71/200. Hikers will then hike east to the trailhead on the east side of Hubbard County Highway 4. Shuttles will be provided back to the starting point.
The hike is 7.8 miles, with the option to end at the 5.3 mile point if needed. This hike is a rain or shine event unless very wet weather or severe storms are present. Carpooling is available 8:15 a.m. at the east side of Ace Hardware parking lot in Park Rapids.
