ALEXANDRIA - A trapper whose body was drowned in a slough has been identified as Danny Leonard Tucker, 63, of Kensington.

He was identified by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of death is listed as drowning, a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

About noon Friday, deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office were asked to complete a welfare check on Tucker. He had a history of health issues and had not been seen for about three weeks.

Deputies learned Tucker was a trapper, which led them to a slough near East Lake Mary Road southwest of Alexandria.

A local conservation officer checked the slough with his own kayak and located Tucker’s body partially submerged in the water next to a small kayak and trapping equipment.
