Pierz High School seniors Laura Skiba and Jake Andres were selected to represent Pierz in the Academics, Arts and Athletics Award program at the District 19 AAA banquet scheduled Jan. 23 at the Holiday Inn in St. Cloud.
Skiba is the daughter of Bob and Kim Skiba and Andres is the son of Mike and Carolyn Andres.
Established in 1988, the Triple A Award is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a "B" or better grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities.
Both candidates are active in their high school. Skiba is in tennis, basketball, softball, clay target, concert band, pit band, pep band, honors band, Minnesota Honor Society, Where Everyone Belongs and Encouraging Positive Influences and Choices.
Andres is in cross-country, wrestling, track, concert choir, A Capella choir, jazz choir, Where Everyone Belongs, Peer Helping, student council, youth group, Minnesota Honor Society and Encouraging Positive Influences and Choices.
