SYLVAN TOWNSHIP-An 18-year-old Pillager man was injured when the SUV he was driving collided with a pickup truck Friday, Nov. 30, resulting in the truck coming to a rest against the Corner Store in Cass County, between Pillager and Baxter.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash reported at 9:44 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west and a Honda CRV was eastbound on Highway 210. The state patrol reported the CRV turned north onto Cass County Highway 18 in the path of the Silverado and the vehicles collided at the intersection. The Silverado came to a rest against the Corner Store, 12857 County Highway 18.
Chastity M. Runge, 17, Staples, the driver of the Silverado, was not injured. Shane P. Evenson, the driver of the CRV, was taken to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life-threatening injuries.
The state patrol reported both drivers were wearing seat belts and the road conditions were wet.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office, Pillager Fire Department, Baxter Police Department and North Memorial Ambulance assisted the state patrol at the scene.
