Truck crash injures driver

A 53-year-old woman was injured when the truck she was driving drifted off the road and struck a mailbox, resulting in a chain of events leading to the crash.

A 53-year-old woman was injured when the truck she was driving drifted off the road and struck a mailbox, resulting in a chain of events leading to the crash.

The crash was reported at 7:54 a.m. Sunday.

Kim Lawson, Princeton, was driving east on Highway 95 in Mille Lacs County when the Chevrolet Silverado she was driving drifted off the road to the right. The truck struck a mailbox and came back onto the roadway. The Minnesota State Patrol reported Lawson then overcorrected sending the truck back into the right ditch when it collided with a tree. The vehicle sustained severe damage.

Lawson suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the state patrol reported. She was taken to Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton. She was wearing a seat belt.

Assisting at the scene were the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office and the Princeton Police Department.
