Two women were injured Sunday when the Ford truck they were in rear-ended a GMC Acadia, which resulted in the Ford going into a ditch, launching over a road approach and hitting a power pole in mid-air before landing in a private field.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash at 2:52 p.m. Both vehicles were traveling west on Highway 210 in May Township in Cass County. The state patrol reported the highway was wet.
The driver of the Acadia, Nancy J. Walz, 66, Wadena, and her passengers, Alaina S. White, 9, and Jason R. White, 13, were not injured.
The driver of the Ford, Ellen M. McGregor, 64, Staples, and her passenger Anna M. North, 46, Hebron, Ky., both were transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life-threatening injuries and have been released. Both women were wearing their seat belts.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
