Truck strikes ATV, injuring 2-year-old

McGRATH--A 2-year-old toddler was injured Tuesday when a Honda Rancher all-terrain-vehicle she was riding on was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado in Aitkin County.

McGRATH-A 2-year-old toddler was injured Tuesday when a Honda Rancher all-terrain-vehicle she was riding on was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado in Aitkin County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the ATV, driven by Jeramy W. Corwin, 31, McGrath, was east on Highway 18 in Idun Township and was making a left turn into a driveway while it was being passed by the truck, driven by Larry D. Anderson, 47, Brook Park, which was pulling a boat and trailer. The truck struck the ATV and the toddler, Desirae Corwin of McGrath, who was taken to FirstLight Health System in Mora by her family with non-life-threatening injuries, the state patrol reported.

Anderson and his passenger, Lawrence W. Thielke, 72, Dyne Wis., were not injured.

The crash was reported at 5:14 p.m. and the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
