Truck strikes van, injures passenger

A passenger was injured Tuesday when the Ford Windstar she was in was struck by a pickup pulling a fifth-wheel trailer on Highways 371 and 2 in Cass County, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.

A passenger was injured Tuesday when the Ford Windstar she was in was struck by a pickup pulling a fifth-wheel trailer on Highways 371 and 2 in Cass County, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.

The van was driven by Jaime M. Chesley, 31, Blackduck, who was traveling south on Highway 371. The Ford truck was driven by Eric T. Clark, 27, Onslow, Iowa, and he was pulling a fifth-wheel trailer with a bobcat on it and was traveling east on Highway 2.

The drivers had no apparent injuries. Chesley's passenger, Jennifer L. French, 29, Blackduck, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to Cass Lake Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Chesley had two other passengers in the van - Lutessa L. Hunt, 3, and Deucalion I. Hunt, 1, who had no apparent injuries.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
