MINNEAPOLIS - Two women are in custody after police say they were identified as suspects in the Aug. 5 robbery of a 90-year-old woman in Minneapolis.
Morgan Elizabeth Bierman, 28, and Tracy Lynnette Williams, 43, both of Minneapolis, were arrested over the weekend, according to a news release from Minneapolis police.
Investigators obtained surveillance photos of the two women around the time of the robbery but were unable to identify them, the news release said. After images were displayed by local media outlets last week, investigators received information through the CrimeStoppers Tipline that identified them.
“This is a fantastic example of the truly positive outcome possible when the public is willing to provide information,” Minneapolis police officials said. “This case was solved by the members of the public who cared more about a 90-year-old victim than anything else.”
Bierman has been charged in the robbery, while Williams is expected to be charged Tuesday.
