JENKINS -- Book lovers are invited to the United Way’s Llama Llama Read-o-Rama 10:30 a.m. to noon July 20 at the Serenity Now Alpaca Farm in Jenkins.

The farm, located at 35456 Crow Wing County Highway 15, will host the free event that will include local celebrities reading children's books, the chance to visit alpacas, Lakes Area Music Festival performances and door prizes and drawings for children and those who sponsor a child through Imagination Library.

Those attending should bring blankets, rugs or lawn chairs for their use. Donated snacks will be provided by Cub Foods.

The event is aimed at celebrating and increasing awareness of the local Imagination Library program, where parents can enroll their children ages newborn to 5 at no cost, and once a month, a new age-appropriate book is mailed to the child.

To sponsor a local child for $30 a year to participate in the early childhood literacy program through Imagination Library, visit https://bit.ly/2JvwdNL .
