Lakes Area Unlimited Learning is sponsoring a presentation from Sharon Carlson and David Boran, both recent travelers hooked on Cuba. Carlson, a retired teacher, traveled to Cuba two weeks before diplomatic relations were resumed in 2014. She will share her impressions of Havana, its performing arts, economy, emerging middle class, educational achievements, historic architecture and Spanish influence. Boran, an accomplished photographer, has been there three times with an exchange between U.S. and Cuban photographers, which gave him unique access to the arts and permission to photograph everyday life in towns and rural areas in which many tourists have been restricted.
The presentation will be 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heartwood Senior Living in Crosby. Non-members are welcome at a cost of $5. Visit unlimitedlearning.net for more information.
