UPDATE
The Highway has been reopened.
A stretch of Highway 371 north of Baxter was temporarily closed just before midnight Tuesday due to poor visibility from the blowing snow, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported.
The stretch of Highway 371 that is closed is from the signal light intersection of Wise Road and Pine Beach Road, which is also known as the lower part of County Highway 77-where Dondelinger Chevrolet is located-to the north part of Interlachen Road-also known as the upper part of County Highway 77, at the signal light intersection of Crow Wing County Road 13 in Nisswa-where the Holiday Stationstore is located.
The recommended detour for motorists is to take County Highway 77, on the west side of Gull Lake. Go to 511mn.org for more information. The highway is expected to be open early Wednesday morning.
