Vehicle strikes, kills woman on highway

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries, the state patrol reported.

MOTLEY — A 29-year-old woman was killed Friday, Dec. 11, after being struck by a Honda Accord along Highway 64, just north of Motley.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the woman as Alexa Rose Hokeness of Lakeville.

The state patrol reported 69-year-old Leland Junior Baldwin of Ramsey was driving the Honda north on Highway 64, when he struck Hokeness who was in his lane of traffic.

The state patrol reported the woman was driving a Toyota Camry south on Highway 64, about 2 miles north of Motley. Hokeness struck a deer on the highway, stopped her vehicle and went outside. While in the northbound lane, she was struck by the Honda.

The fatal crash was reported at 5:08 p.m. near the intersection of 120th Street in May Township.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Motley Fire assisted the state patrol.
