Quilters and members of Light of the Cross Church in Garrison showed their appreciation for veterans Sunday with a Quilt of Valor presentation.
The members and quilters made a quilt for each veteran at the church, a process that began almost two years ago. Patterns were selected, fabrics gathered, tops pieced, layers quilted together, bindings sewn and dedication labels attached. All of the labor and materials were donated to make the 28 quilts.
The Light of the Cross Quilters were helped by friends in the Ladies of the Lakes Quilt Club in Garrison/Aitkin. The quilts were presented to the veterans Sunday. The veterans ranged in service from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and many other terms of service and conflicts.
