Virtual banquet recognizes Brainerd FFA members

Brainerd FFA Chapter members were recognized April 29 during the FFA Region II Spring virtual banquet for their year’s accompaniments.

In the career development events area:

  • The General Livestock team consisting of Hannah Schubert, Serena White, Addison Hillman, Maren Rahto and Madison Bader took first place with individual awards to Schubert for second place and White for third place.

  • The Horse Evaluation team consisting of Samina Crabtree, Ali Schroer, Peyton Hamlin, Cori Stenglein and Hanna Caughey took first place with individual awards to Crabtree for first, Schroer, third and Hamlin, fifth.

  • The Dairy Evaluation team consisting of Jenna Caughey, Simon Nelson, Annie Loss and Lexi Holtz took third place with an individual award to Jenna Caughey for 10th place.

  • The Fish and Wildlife team consisting of Andrew Caughey, Edith Chamberlain, Isaac Lockwood and Dylan Toews took second place with individual awards to Andrew Caughey for fourth, Chamberlain, fifth and Lockwood, 10th.

  • The Small Animals Vet Science Team consisting of Karli Knopf, Lea Krueger, Leanna Ruggles and Olivia Ostrowski took first place with individual awards to Knopf for first, Krueger, third, Ruggles, fifth and Ostrowski, seventh.

In the leader development events area:

  • Conduct of Chapter Meeting team consisting of Chamberlain, Wind, Hamlin, Daric Caughey, Melanie Prindle-Teal and Beau Lindley earned second.

  • The Parliamentary Procedure Team took first. Team consists of Emelia Hinrichs, Simon Nelson, Maren Rahto, Karli Knopf, Keyahna Kurilla and Devin Knopf.

  • Farm Bureau Discussion, Andrew Caughey.

  • Employment Skills, Jenna Caughey took fourth place.

  • Extemporaneous Speaking, Kurilla.

  • Prepared Public Speaking, Arica Caughey.

Two Brainerd members who will be part of the Region II officer team include Hinrichs, vice president, and Devin Knopf, sentinel.
Brainerd FFA Chapter has two members, Arica Caughey and Karli Knopf, who will run for state office. The state convention was postponed until June.

The Brainerd FFA seniors are Arica Caughey, Nelson, Hinrichs, Ostrowski, Krueger, Kurilla, Ashlin Schneider, Taylor Radunz, Maren Rahto, Mackenzie Stockinger, Karli Knopf, Sommer Gutzwiller and Blake Schibonski.

The 2020-21 new Brainerd chapter officers are Jenna Caughey, president; Devin

Knopf, vice president; Hillman, secretary; Madison Plante, treasurer; Gabe Wills, reporter; Jacob Borgstrom, sentinel; Wind, historian; and Loss, officer at large.
