Family time is precious, especially with school in session and parents working. Time spent talking and laughing at the dinner table or everyone piled together in front of the TV, watching a favorite show can bring a happy end to a winter day.
With spring around the corner, we are all looking forward to the tasks of mowing the lawn or weeding the garden. As we come to the end of this winter season, we find ourselves dreaming of birds singing while we walk to the park or sitting in a fishing boat under blue skies.
While you and your family are daydreaming about warmer days and sparkling lakes, can you imagine adding a child to the scene, tagging along and adding to the fun? Can you see them sitting at the table and slurping up spaghetti or running in the yard after the dog?
Mentoring is that simple. Doing the things you do every day with your family and adding one more. What you do in your daily life is what our Kinship Kids need.
Jason is 11 years old and would benefit from a mentor who would introduce him to new experiences and be patient with him. Jason has not had many opportunities to get out and needs someone who could do things with him to build his confidence and give him lots of positive support.
