The 2014 Warrior Day of Service is at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Brainerd Public School students in sixth-12th grade are able to participate.
The Brainerd schools are partnering with Brainerd Area Youth Ministries (BAY) to galvanize the character-building day.
The launch sites are Brainerd High School and Forestview Middle School. After school releases student volunteers will be greeted, receive a Warrior Day of Service T-shirt and instructions and meet the adult volunteers and leaders. Adult and student volunteers will be bussed to Camp Confidence, Northland Arboretum, area nursing homes, Brainerd parks, Build a Better Brainerd project sites and several other sites.
Two-hour projects are earmarked for students involved in sports and other extracurricular activities. Longer four-hour projects will be assigned to groups of students who can contribute more time.
