Weight restrictions begin in north-central frost zone

Spring load weight restrictions in the north-central frost zone will be in effect beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday.

In Crow Wing County this includes roads north of highways 210 and 18. Weight restrictions for the central zone, roads south of highways 210 and 18 went into effect Feb. 21.

Minnesota Statute 169.87 establishes weight restrictions. The weight on any single axle shall not exceed 5 tons on any unpaved street or highway; or 10 tons on a paved street or highway unless posted otherwise between the dates set by the commissioner of transportation.
