Weight restrictions continue on some county roads

Spring weight restrictions for the north-central frost zone (north of Highway 210 and Highway 18 in Crow Wing County) will expire at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

Spring weight restrictions for the north-central frost zone (north of Highway 210 and Highway 18 in Crow Wing County) will expire at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.

Several roads within this zone will remain restricted until further notice. County Highway 36 from County Road 114 to Highway 6 will remain restricted at 7 tons. County Highway 36 (east of Highway 6 to the Aitkin County line), County Road 105, County Road 106 and Spruce Grove Road will remain limited to 5 tons.

Spring weight restrictions for the central zone (south of Highway 210 and Highway 18 in Crow Wing County) previously expired. However, due to poor road conditions, County Road 130 will remain restricted at 7 tons. County Highway 9, County Highway 44, County Road 132, County Road 138 County Road 141, County Road 144 and County Road 148 will be restricted at 5 tons until further notice.

Minnesota Statute 169.87 establishes weight restrictions. The weight on any single axle shall not exceed 5 tons on any unpaved street or highway; or 10 tons on a paved street or highway unless posted otherwise between the dates set by the commissioner of transportation. Cooperation and compliance with the legal posted limits is needed to minimize unnecessary
