The Crow Wing County Child Protection Team consists of social workers, law enforcement officers, family service and mental health collaboratives, county attorney's office representatives and others. The team's duties is they work together to provide public and professional education, develop resources for prevention, intervention and provide case consultation on child protection and child welfare cases. The team promotes child protection and helps raise money to help families.
The protection team supports the Crisis Nursery Services which is a free short-term crisis childcare for children ages up to 12 in Crow Wing County and surrounding counties. The goal of the nursery is to provide a safe place for children during a family crisis. The services are funded through money raised during the Radiothon to End Child Abuse, which was held Thursday and Friday.
