The Mille Lacs Kite Crossing race will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison during the free three-day event. Kiters are on a snowboard or regular alpine skis, with a large kite (as a sail) harnessed to riders for wind power.

Brainerd Community Theatre presents Edward Albee’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” 7 p.m. Friday at the Chalberg Theatre at Central Lakes College. Tickets available from the CLC Theatre Box office at 218-855-8199 or online at clcperformingarts.com .
