The public is invited to attend the community breakfast 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 1, at the Brainerd Elks Lodge at 215 S. Ninth St. Order from the menu. All proceeds go to support Elks programs.
Brainerd Legion upcoming events set
On Monday, March 2, the Color Guard will meet at 6 p.m., the IBEW will meet at 6 p.m. and the Post Executive Board will meet at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, the Bricklayers will meet at 7 p.m.
The special dinner March 6 will be Bob Harting’s barbecue ribs for $12. Walleye is also available for $12. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

Parkinson’s disease special 8-week program planned
BAXTER — Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services melds education about different aspects of living well with Parkinson’s disease with psychosocial support and sharing.
The PRESS group will meet noon to 2 p.m. every Thursday, April 9 to June 11, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter.
Care-partners and adult family members of the person with Parkinson’s are encouraged to attend the PRESS sessions as well. There is no cost to attend the PRESS program, but pre-registration is required.
Each week covers a different topic.
Session 1: What’s Next After Diagnosis (April 9).
Session 2: Medication Management of Parkinson’s Disease (April 16).
Session 3: Importance of Exercise in Parkinson’s Disease (April 23).
Session 4: Dealing with Physical Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease (April 30).
Session 5: Impact of Parkinson’s on Daily Coping and Relationships (May 7).
Session 6: Tips for Daily Living (May 28).
Session 7: Caring for Others, Caring for Yourself (June 4).
Session 8: Building Your Health Care Team (June 11).
The group will be facilitated by Lynda Erickson, facilitator of the Brainerd Lakes Area Parkinson’s disease support group.
