Whitefish Chain Yacht Club announces 2021 events

Classes include boating safety classes, swimming classes for youths, and a course for women who want to be more comfortable at the helm of their boats along with events in July and August at Moonlite Bay.

The board of the Whitefish Chain Yacht Club has announced a full calendar of events for 2021.

  • Youth boating safety classes in conjunction with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Water Patrol for youths ages 12-17, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 23 and July 21, Zorbaz in Crosslake;

  • Youths swimming classes, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 5-9, July 12-16 and July 19-23, Army Corp of Engineers Campground in Crosslake;

  • Women at the Helm for women who would like to get more comfortable at the helm of their boats with Jonny Wallin as instructor, 5:30 p.m. June 18 and July 16, Bertha Boatworks.

In addition to these classes, the yacht club is a sponsor of the Antique and Classic Wood Boat Rendezvous at Moonlite Bay from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 19.
The cardboard boat races, where teams try to paddle their homemade cardboard boats around the buoys in Moonlite Bay, will be Aug. 14
