Stephanie Whiting is a local teen vying for the Junior Teen United States pageant in the upcoming 2016 Miss Brainerd/Baxter United States Pageant Saturday.
Whiting, 13, daughter of Michelle Whiting and Gregory Whiting, is sponsored by Dirt Diggers Repair and Landscaping, Dan's Catering Company and Mr. Tire.
The 2016 Miss Brainerd/Baxter United States Pageant will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Tornstrom Auditorium. This year marks a historic number of contestants competing in the yearly pageant event. Twenty-three contestants will be competing to capture six titles-Miss Jr. Teen Brainerd and Baxter, Miss Teen Brainerd and Baxter and Miss Brainerd and Baxter.
Contestants will compete in interview, on stage question, evening gown and swimsuit. During the pageant there will be a silent auction, as a fundraiser for the pageant, along with a bake sale to benefit the "No Kid Hungry" organization, the national platform of Miss United States National Pageants, Inc. Doors to the building will open at 6 p.m. with doors to the auditorium opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general seating and will be available to purchase at the door.
