A 35-year-old Brainerd woman accused of pouring gasoline on a man’s head and threatening to light him on fire faces criminal charges.
Jerralynn Malloy was arraigned March 4 in Crow Wing County District Court, where she faced charges of two felony counts of stalking and threatening violence, gross misdemeanor endangering a child and misdemeanor domestic assault.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Malloy, law enforcement was called at 4:17 p.m. March 2 to a physical domestic disturbance at a residence in Crow Wing County. On a 911 call, a juvenile stated Malloy was attempting to kill a man in the garage. Deputies arrived on scene and detained Malloy and spoke with the man, with whom she was acquainted. The man stated he went to the residence to gather some personal belongings, and while he was there Malloy became angry with him. Malloy then began pushing and hitting the victim in the chest and face area, according to the complaint. At one point Malloy poured gasoline on the victim’s head and down his face, and made mention of lighting the man on fire, according to the complaint.
While Malloy was being booked in the jail, she made statements to the effect that if she made a threat, she would carry it out, the complaint stated.
The man also told authorities that on Feb. 10, deputies were dispatched to the residence when Malloy had assaulted him by striking him on the head with a space heater. The man stated the assaultive behavior by Malloy seemed to be getting worse and he was afraid of further assaults.

Malloy, who has since been released from Crow Wing County Jail, may not leave the state without written court appeal, may not have contact with the victims, must make all court appearances and must follow her domestic abuse no contact order. Her next court hearing is May 21.
