Woman dies in Highway 6 crash

A 43-year-old woman died Monday night in a two-car crash on Highway 6.

Roberta T. Fleming of Emily was driving north on the highway just after 6 p.m. with her husband Paul W. Fleming as her passenger. The Chrysler Fleming was driving crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Corolla in the southbound lane, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at 6:16 p.m. Paul Fleming was transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby with non-life-threatening injuries. Debi M. Shindler-Fox, 57, Emily, who was driving the Toyota, was also taken to CRMC with non-life-threatening injuries. All three vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts, the state patrol reported. Both vehicles were totaled in the collision. The police scanner noted a portion of Highway 6 was closed for a time following the crash.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
