LITTLE FALLS-A vehicle struck a tree after a driver fell asleep at the wheel Saturday on Highway 10 near Little Falls.
The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported at 2:47 p.m., it received a report of a crash on Highway 10, south of the Highway 27 exit in Little Falls.
According to the sheriff's office, Cheryl Kluender, 70, of Detroit Lakes, was driving a Cadillac SUV north on Highway 10 when she fell asleep. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Kluender and her passenger, Howard Kluender, 73, of Detroit Lakes, suffered unknown injuries and were transported to St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls. A hospital official reported they were then transferred to St. Cloud Hospital, where Sunday a representative reported both Cheryl Kluender and Howard Kluender were in fair condition.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Little Falls Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.
