BEMIDJI - One person was injured Wednesday night when her car struck a log that had rolled off of a trailer as it was traveling on U.S. Highway 2 near Bemidji.

Minnesota State Patrol said Michael Tammaro, 60, Laporte, Minn., was driving a 1998 Ford semi, pulling a trailer loaded with logs westbound on Highway 2 when he swerved to avoid a vehicle that had pulled onto the highway at about 8 p.m.

The semi traveled into the north ditch and rolled, resulting in logs rolling off of the trailer.

One of the logs was struck by a Ford Taurus operated by Kristie Jacobson, 51, Wilton, Minn., according to the report.
