Woman possibly falls asleep, crashes truck

HACKENSACK--A 66-year-old woman was injured Wednesday, May 22, after possibly falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing her truck on Highway 371 north of Hackensack.

HACKENSACK-A 66-year-old woman was injured Wednesday, May 22, after possibly falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing her truck on Highway 371 north of Hackensack.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported Debra Lynn Swartz of Adel, Iowa, was driving a Ford 500 north on Highway 371 near Laguna Lane. The state patrol reported Swartz stated she thought she fell asleep, when the Ford left the roadway into the west ditch and struck a tree. The woman was transported to Sanford Health Medical Center in Bemidji for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol with the crash, which was reported at 12:23 a.m.
