A 35-year-old Brainerd woman suffered injury Tuesday, July 10, after rear-ending an SUV with her truck and then fleeing from authorities, which resulted in her losing control of her truck and crashing in Cass County.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported a trooper, at about 5:38 p.m., witnessed a Chevrolet pickup rear-end a GMC Envoy on Highway 34 near Cass County Highway 83 in Shingobee Township. The trooper activated his emergency lights and the Chevrolet fled from the trooper. The Chevrolet turned north onto County Highway 83, lost control, ran off the road and rolled.
The driver of the truck, Cinda M. Plentywounds, was transported to Essentia Health-Fargo for non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was detected in Plentywounds' system, the state patrol stated.
The driver of the Envoy, Jay A. Wheeler, 77, Rochert, was not injured.
