Maintenance work on two water towers caused several fire alarms to go off Tuesday morning in the city of Baxter.

The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 8:39 a.m. to fire alarms that sounded at Target, Fleet Farm and Mills GM, both on Dellwood Drive; Gander Outdoors on Edgewood Drive; Lindar Corporation on Hastings Road; and OfficeMax off Clearwater Road.

Firefighters investigated and learned the city of Baxter shut off both water towers as there was a drop in water pressure, causing the fire alarms to go off.
