Pavement reconditioning work is scheduled to begin on Crow Wing county highways 9 and 44 Monday.
The Crow Wing County Highway Department has entered into a contract with Anderson Brothers Construction for the work. Aggregate base class 5 will be placed on the existing bituminous surface of County Highway 9 and then on County Highway 44.
Full depth reclamation operations will follow on Wednesday. The newly placed aggregate base and existing pavement will be mixed together and pulverized by the reclaiming operations and reshaped into a new aggregate base layer.
During the week of Aug. 22, bituminous surfacing operations will take place. Two new lifts of asphalt pavement will be placed on all of County Highway 9 and County Highway 44. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers and a pilot car as needed.
"Expect delays and use caution while traveling through the construction zone," a news release stated.
